Not a bad budget-priced laptop, especially if it's for light use or for kids...

The Jumper Ezbook S4 Laptop is a small budget-priced laptop that’s ideal for either kids or light laptop use and internet surfing etc.First off, this is a budget laptop with just 6GB of RAM, so it’s not exactly a powerful laptop. As such, if you’re after a laptop that will be good for business use, or running large pieces of software on, then this really isn’t going to be the right choice. However, if what you need is quite a standard laptop for general surfing and standard, non-complex use without any large pieces of software running on it, then this is a great little budget laptop.Set up is easy, with Windows 10 running you through the whole process with relative ease. It’s probably take you around half an hour to get it fully up and running, but when done, you should be pretty much good to go. Installing Netflix and web-based programs like that on it is also easy, as is connecting to the internet and familiarising yourself with general use like that. The actual laptop itself feels relatively sturdy. It’s lightweight and not the strongest of manufactures, but as long as you don’t go dropping it or anything, it should last well. The screen resolution is also pretty good. For watching films and surfing the net, you should find it more than adequate. The keyboard feels light and the buttons are ok. Not solid or particularly smooth feeling when you press a key – but again, it does the job. I could imagine if you were planning to use the laptop regularly for writing, typing up stuff or (dare I say) writing a novel, then this might again not be the most suitable of laptops. The keys can feel a tad clunky for such sustained and regular use.All in all I’ve been very happy with the laptop. Generally it’s the kids that I’ve found use it the most. In fact, it’s pretty much ideal for young teenagers or similar. So if you’re planning on getting say a twelve year old their first laptop, in my experience, this is a very good shout.

Good For a Cheaper Laptop

This is a cheaper version of a notebook laptop but was pleasantly surprised with the good quality screen colours and sharpness of the graphics. It works with the Windows 10 setup and is easily to navigate as is familiar. It doesn't come loaded with things like word etc but you can easily download either a windows package or another document type programme . It also doesn't have a huge storage but easy access ports for SD cards or USB sticks means that you can just store off the unit.As I am the only one using it the wonky keyboard setup is not a problem once you have figured out the transposed symbols on the keys it is easy enough to use @ being " and vice versa along with an few others but spend five minutes just pressing them all and you soon get the picture as to what is what.As noted by other reviewers the battery life is not the longest and yes I did find the battery getting hot when using for any length but it does what I need it to do and I am happy enough with it.As with all things you get what you pay for and if you are looking for a cheap but effective notebook then this is ok.

Top value but doesn't match higher end builds

I feel a bit conflicted with this review because, while good value, this isn't a machine I'd settle for unless I really had to.My primary work computer is a new model MacBook 12 and my primary home computer is a 2012 MacBook Pro. Both are much nicer experiences than the Jumper EZbook X3, but that's hardly surprising as both were around four times the price new (a second hand 2012 MacBook will still set you back £300 - £400 at the time of writing). So, putting that lofty benchmark aside, the EZbook really isn't a bad computer for the following reasons:- The keyboard is very good and something I'd be happy to use a lot.- The display is reasonable, certainly adequate for typical work use and light entertainment.- It comes with Windows 10, quite an achievement at this price point.- Thought has gone into providing software to correct the limitations of the trackpad (see below). On the other hand...- The aluminium top-cover is a gimmick. I the flesh it doesn't lend a solid, cool feeling that you get with unibody builds like the Macs but instead feels like what it is - a slab of aluminium glued onto the lid of an otherwise plastic laptop. I'd rather they hadn't bothered and instead made the machine lighter.- Storage (SSD) is too small, even in an age of cloud based computing, for more than very basic needs. That shouldn't be a problem for a student or office worker running Office 365, but if you might ever want to set-up local VMs etc then it's too small (if you don't know what that means then you are probably safe!.- Battery discharges itself when not in use, limiting the machine's utility as a back-up machine. It also uses a non-standard charger rather than micro-usb etc.In conclusion, if cash is tight and you are someone who needs to use Office and web-based applications, then this remains a great buy over messing around with tablets with add-on keyboards etc. However, if you have a deeper pocket and are going to be using your machine daily then I'd advise pushing the boat out for something a lot more expensive otherwise you may find yourself paying cheap and paying twice.
