This product works well for killing the stumps of bushes and vines. My landscape gets out of control with many little trees and bushes coming up where I don't want them..... especially in the middle of my shrubs.I have used other products in the past that have either not killed what I wanted to kill, or they have killed everything,So far, most of the things I have used this on have stayed dead, and the desirable plants have survived.I do have an issue with the shape of the bottle. Sometimes I need to set the bottle down so I can use both of my hands to get through the bushes to the spot I want to treat. The bottle is tall and flat and easy to tip over. so far this has not caused me to lose any of my landscape plants but I have had to stop and make a trip to the store to buy more.

SO....while I am anti-pesticide, herbicide, anti all the -cides... sometimes there are nuisance plants that you must kill in your garden and nothing else works. This is applied with a little brush (so it's very targeted) and you could even cover the area it was applied with a plastic bag if you want to make sure that no insects, worms, catipillars, birds, etc., get poisoned. How I use it is, for "tree weeds" (you know those tree seedlings that pop up over and over and you just keep cutting them back but they never die) and things that I chopped down that I don't want to grow back (like invasive barberry bushes...why does anyone plant those?) Or maybe you have IVY, or some other invasive you need to kill. Poison is bad, but this is targeted and does have a use in the right application.

The way this product is supposed to work is to cut a Vine or stump then paint on the herbicide on to the fresh cut so it travels down the vine killing it.It is one of the ways I got rid of a sea of invasive ivy that was covering a house.It took several ways to get rid of the.ivy and this was useful as part of the warRecommended

Already leaked when received it , the cap is too loose for shipping the bottle , mess up all the box , need sealed the bottle better.

We have a large garden area surrounding a 2-level patio that had been let go for over 10 years when my elderly mother lived with us. Last year, we decided to clean it up but it was so overgrown with weeds, honeysuckle bushes and trees that had grown from fallen seeds, the task was insurmountable for 2 people in their late 70's. So, we hired a landscaping company to clean it up and to remove all of the unwanted bushes and trees. $7500 later, the garden area did look nicer even if they had removed some of the trees we wanted to keep and cut back and trampled on most of the hostas, brunnera, and other perennials.This year the weeds came back with a vengeance. The wild raspberries, honeysuckle bushes, and trees had been only cut back to stumps. So, they were all growing back. Since the raspberry bushes are shallow rooted, they were easy enough for me to dig out. While I removed weeds a section at a time and transplanted some of the perennials as needed, my husband dug out some of the smaller stumps, but some were just to large to remove with a shovel and a pick..I found out about Bonide stump remover on a YouTube video and decided to try it on some of the larger stumps. This stuff really does work!! Using the brush applicator it doesn't seem like you are using enough, but you don't need much to kill a stump. We had a grapevine climbing a walnut tree that had a 3" diameter stem attached the tree and growing at least 50' into the tree. I pulled it away from the tree and cut it off with a saw at ground level. Then I applied Bonide Stump & Vine Killer to the stump. So far, this vine has not regrown or sent out new shoots. Still haven't figured out how to get the dead vine out of the tree, though. I have also stopped new growth on a walnut tree stump and a few honeysuckle bushes. Fortunately, the landscaper left a 2"-3" stump in most cases, so I cut off the top 1"-2" and apply Bonide to the fresh cut. This is important as the cut needs to be fresh for the stump killer to be absorbed by the stump to kill the roots.So far this stump and vine killer seems to be working and has help quite a bit in the cleanup of our garden area. I would recommend this product, but make sure you apply it to a fresh cut. I have added a couple of pictures of the patio garden and a couple other areas after cleanup to give you an idea of the size of this project.UPDATE 11/12/24:It has been over 3 months since I treated a number of bush and tree stumps in addition to a few huge vines that were growing up our trees. At this point, I have seen no new growth on any of the stumps and vines that I treated with this Stump & Vine killer. This stuff really does work.I hope this review was helpful for you.

I pour some into a gallon jug of water and use it on tough vines I don't want, and it kills them just great. Recommend.
