A Convenient Wire Spool to Improve Short Wave Reception
I looked at the questions and answers and I see a string of "does it work with this or that radio?". Assuming you already have the radio in question, you obviously know little about it to ask a question like that. You can accomplish much the same as this device by connecting 23' of wire to an alligator clip and clipping it to the whip antenna. Thats *IT*. It *MIGHT* improve FM reception, but that is not its intent. If your radio does not have Short Wave, do not buy this device. It most likely will do nothing for AM reception. If you want to improve AM reception then you should look at something like a Kaito AN-200. If your radio has an external antenna jack then it can also plug into that. How well it will work on your radio on Short Wave... depends. Take 20_odd feet of wire and clip it to the whip antenna to try it before you buy it. All this is is that 20_odd feet of wire inside a plastic spool with some nice packaged connectors. Now, thats not to take away anything that Sangean has done. It has always done something positive on every "portable" radio I've owned on the SHORT WAVE BANDS. Get it? That includes a number of Grundigs and C Crane radios and a Tecsun PL310et. It works well for 23' of wire, and the spool allows you to gather that wire up in a convenient package for storage when not in use. How well it works will depend on your particular radio but it will improve reception on the SHORT WAVE BANDS if all you are using is the whip antenna. If you don't know what a Short Wave Band is, do some research. This should answer those "does it work with" questions. Please don't ask me as I won't answer. You now know exactly what it is and how to test if this is a product for you.

The reel works smoothly
I purchased my Sangean ANT-60 in 2011, 13 years ago. In the intervening years I've gotten other similar real antennas included with shortwave radios I bought. They're all about the same except for one very important characteristic -- how easy the antenna is to reel in. Some of them stick and reeling the antenna back in is tedious and frustrating. The ANT-60 works pretty smoothly -- and a tiny bit of silicone lubricant makes it perfect. The antenna terminates in a 3.5 mm phone jack, the almost universal connector for portable shortwave radios. For radios with no antenna jack, the ANT-60 comes with an adaptor that clips onto the end of the telescopic antenna. The ANT-60 also comes with a short strap and a clip suitable for attaching the end to a tree limb or something else convenient. It's a piece of wire with a phone plug rolled up in a reel. This isn't rocket science, but this model works the best. If mine ever got lost or finally broke, I'd buy this model again.

Very inexpensive solution to good reception
The media could not be loaded. Bought this for my Choyong LC90 radio. See the video for how well it works for short wave reception. I am doing the video during the day and receiving distant stations. At night it is way better. Sangean provides a clip on adapter if your radio does not have an external 1/8 jack for antenna a very nice touch. In my video I have it plugged in to the external antenna. Right now is a great time for SW reception because we are at the peak of sunspot cycle. Unit winds up very nicely. Just be careful not to tangle it up like some reviewers stated. There is no problem if you wind it back with slight tension on the wire. For the price it is a nice little package. Yeah you could cut a piece of wire to 28 ft and use it but for the price you have a nice reusable antenna.

Tangles easily
This cord definitely helped my signal. I was very careful with it but it got tangled while reeling it in, and then the wire broke while I was trying to detangle it. So bizarre - next time I get a wire it won't have this reel layout.

Reel well made
Nice reel. I think this will last a long time. I used it with a Tecsun PL-330 - good fit into antenna connector and the clip on works too.
