Adorable AND Instructive
My 8 year old granddaughter is showing some interest in starting to do hand sewing. I had gotten a different company's kit with prepunched holes and 'stick on' eyes, etc. While cute, I know that the eyes etc will fall off in a week and we would be left with a frustrated crafter. This kit is perfect for her. She picked it out herself, and loves the cuteness of the donut animals. The directions are STELLAR - even if you've never held a needle you can do this. I mean, it tells you how to tie a knot in the end of the thread! (This is definitely a 'do-together' project for someone who has not done any sewing, though. )She finished the first donut and is pleased as can be. In this project she learned a running stitch and a whipstitch. She is learning how to take a few stitches on the back to tie off her thread (again, pointed out in the book) and now is getting more adept at threading the needle. Every item is SEWN on, so as I told her "these will still be together in 50 years". There is just enough challenge to make it interesting but not so bewildering that she is frustrated. She is delighted with the box to display them in and is very, very proud of her new skills.I bought Klutz things for my son (her father) 35 years ago, and the quality is still excellent. So glad to revisit this brand!

Cute, easy fun donuts. Donut miss out on this!
Got this for myself, a 40 something year old woman that just likes cutesy food stuff.Instructions are clear and easy even for a beginner like myself. They spend a great deal of time teaching the basics in the first design which is the panda so don’t skip that and start with that one.The donut box is very cute. Lots of punny messages inside and out. One thing I did find was there wasn’t enough stuffing but I may have overstuffed mine. Also if you’re looking for the panda nose like I did, it’s in the square with the eyes. I completely missed seeing that because it’s all black and cut my own nose out from the felt collection I already owned. This is tons of fun both for kids and adults alike.

Perfect for a beginning sewer!
I got this for my 8 yo daughter who wants to learn to sew. This kit is perfect! The needle is one of the dull ones, so it's safe for little hands. The instructions are easy to follow, and the felt is all pre-cut. But there's no marked holes like with some of the other kits so you make your own stitches. We've made two of the donuts so far, and by the end of the second one my daughter was already starting to figure it out on her own. I'm sure by the end of the last donut she won't need mom to guide her with each step.

Very cute activity
The animals are super cute. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is the parrot was missing a wing and they don't include enough embroidery floss to make all the animals. You cab buy a supplemental pack of floss with all the colors for ten bucks on here.

Great project! 😃
This project was so much fun! They turned out great.I love that the felt was already cut. I’m 63 - this seems a little complex for kids (8+) but maybe I’m wrong.

Easy to do
There was a whole book of instructions explaining everything very clearly. Easy to do and what looks difficult on the cover of the books is remarkably easy

incomplete instructions, missing pieces
I read through the other reviews to make sure I wasn't just losing it... apparently I'm the only one not completely satisfied. Maybe I hold Klutz to a higher standard than I should (my last 2 Klutz products were not the quality I remember from childhood). This kit says "super-clear instructions" but they aren't clear. It also says "everything is included in the box!" but it isn't.The nose included for the panda is smaller and not the same shape as shown on the panda. The "icing" also doesn't fit on the donut.Throughout the book it will say "YOU WILL NEED" and more than once it doesn't tell you that you will need something, they just randomly bring it up during the instructions (the parrots beak, and wings). For the strawbunny, it says LARGE WHITE CIRCLES x5. My kit only had 3. It also tells you PINK OVAL x2. But the instructions call for 4. It then tells you to take 3 felt circles to make the bunny tail, but there aren't enough of them to even make it.For the cinna-chicken you will need calls for RED CIRCLES x9. My kit only had 3.Under what you get on the box it shows a lime green donut, except there isn't one. And one of my needles looks gross.I'm going to wait to even start these with the kids until I take pictures.

Great beginner sewing for little ones
This is a great starter set to introduce sewing to little ones. My daughter is 8 and other than helping her get the string into the needle, she’s been able to follow the easy instructions. Great activity!!
