This review is for the “65.6ft Led Strip Lights, Tenmiro Ultra-Long RGB LED Lights Strip 5050 LED Tape Lights Flexible Color Changing LED Lights with 44 Keys IR Remote for Bedroom, Kitchen, DIY Home Decoration(4X16.4ft)” sold by NIGHTSPARKLEIncluded in the box is a remote, a power-brick style power supply (12v DC 5A), 4 spools of LED Strip lights, the IR based controller, an IR remote (with 4 legs to connect the 4 strips to), connecting hardware, and a small brochure.The lights on the strip can be set on a good array of colors. When selecting a color or pattern, the same color and pattern goes across all 4 strips. These LEDs are NOT individually addressable. If you want to have that functionality, like light chasing patterns, or each LED to be of a different color than its neighbors, then you need to look at a different style of LED Strip (look for DREAMCOLOR or “Chasing LED’s” in the descriptions).The lights are NOT WEATHER PROOF or WATERPROOF. These lights were designed to be in an indoor configuration as the diodes for the LED are simply surface mounted and exposed to the environment with no protection on a carrier strip. So behind a TV, under inside cabinets and molding, and accent lights for a room or under a bed would be a great place to put these.The adhesive on the strip looks to be “just barely strong enough” to hold it in place. So if you intend to have it mounted for a longer time, I would suggest looking into adding or replacing the adhesive that comes with the strips or using some mounting hardware or dedicated LED strip mounting channels. If you want to beef up the adhesive, 3M makes great adhesive tapes for this need.The strip itself is basically a flexible circuit board where the diodes and other surface mount components are affixed. The LEDs are 50x50mm and each LED carrier contains separate diodes for Red, Green, or Blue in the physical package. While this configuration does give great color for the 3 primary colors, giving combinations of colors (like an orange, or a yellow, or a white) is not as pure as what you might be expecting, but all in all still pretty good. The strips have cut areas about every 6.5” so you can trim the length of the strip to match most desired lengths. Each section has 3 LED packages on it, giving an equivalent of 3 Red, 3 Green, and 3 Blue LED’s per strip. There is no additional “white” LED (cold or warm) on this strip.If you do choose to cut and splice, make sure you get the 4 conductor connectors for LED strips. It is possible to buy extra connecting hardware to splice back in cut lengths together — however, I would suggest keeping the total length of one powered run as what was provided by the factory — unless you can engineer in more +12V power supplies. From what I have seen as “standard issue”, a 12V 1.25A supply should power 1 leg of 5M (16.5’) of LEDs.The Remote is Infra-Red — you have to point the remote at the IR LED that comes off the controller. If you don’t have a clear line of sight between the remote and the controller, you won’t be able to control the lights. If you want to have it so that you can control it via Radio signals, look for a replacement controller that does support RF operations.This controller is NOT MUSIC / SOUND sensitive.The Power supply is sufficient to power the four included rolls of LED Strip lighting with no apparent issues. The power supply cord from the wall to the power brick is a little on the short side ( about 18” ) and the length from the power brick to the barrel connector was about 3 feet — and is as usually expected for a generally sourced 12v 5A power adapter. It is 2 pronged which is typical for the US power grid, and this version did not have interchangeable power connectors in case you wanted to install these in UK, FR, etc.So, again, these strips function as specified, so no issues there. Just make sure that these give you the ability to get you the quality of light you need and only use these indoors in an average humidity environment.

My son really wanted these for his room and I was skeptical. I was pleasantly surprised though. They went up easily and its been about 4 weeks and they are holding firm. When hanging them i did have to reposition once or twice, and the backing kept its stickiness and didnt damage the paint. I do wish you could connect them together. But each strip needs to be plugged into an outlet.

For those of you new to this little rabbit hole of DIY stuff, welcome and I'm sorry. You're probably clicking through like two dozen nearly identical products with random "brand" names that look like what would happen if you gave a 2nd grader kid 8th grade level words in a spelling bee. It's confusing and weird and I want to help with at least this product as best I can.Anyway, this LED strip comes in two large spools with a controller, a power cable, a split connector so both LED strips can be plugged in at once and an old-style IR remote for the light controller.The light controller is very rudimentary - it's not managed through an app, but rather through a simple IR remote that's included. It's got maybe a dozen preset colors, a few different color cycles (i.e. programs that change through colors over time), and a couple of manual controls if you want to try dialing in a specific color by guessing at the levels of Red, Green, and Blue (you don't). There is a "white" light function but I caution that there are physically no traditional "white" LEDs on this strip. All of it is RGB. So it's going to crank up the values of all three to max and what you get is "white" but it comes out quite cold as whites go.As mentioned, you do have free reign over the RGB values but since you can't read what those values are, you're just going to stand there hitting up and down on some arrow buttons and guessing. It handles more saturated values better and struggles with brightness on intermediate values.The remote is frustrating to use compared to literally any app-based interface and if you happen to lose this tiny remote you lose the ability to control your lights at all. Additionally, it's an IR remote so it requires direct line of sight with the light controller (specifically the IR receiver on it) to do anything, which is its own hassle when you're also trying to make sure the elements of the lighting setup stay hidden from view.The strips themselves come on two separate spools with a built-in plug at one end to connect back to the controller. If you want to be able to split the spools up into multiple strands you will need bridges, splitters, connectors and extenders all sold separately. You'll want to look for 4-pin LED connectors - they come in just about every configuration, combination, and length imaginable so plan out your build first and figure out what you need, then work from there.As the strips go, they're fine. The lights on them are spaced just over two inches apart and it's got clear markings for where the strip can be cut. The back is coated in adhesive and I think for most uses it's adequate. I have the lights adhered on the underside of some cabinets using only the provided adhesive and they haven't fallen or dislodged at all.The brightness of the LEDs leaves something to be desired, if I'm being honest. You're given plenty of them here, so double up if you have even the slightest feeling that you may need more light. I did a shelf build where I thought 6 LEDs per shelf would be enough for some display lighting but I needed double that to get the desired outcome. It's not the end of the world, but for some applications you may not have the luxury of space that I did and should probably go for brighter LEDs to be more space efficient.One final note I'll pass along is that the light controller will "remember" the last value it used before being switched off. This means you could either put your lighting setup on a switched outlet/light timer OR put the entire light strip array on a smart plug and control on/off schedules with a smartphone.Overall, for certain applications I'd buy these again. I did two entire cabinet setups for under $50 total and I still have lights (most of the 2nd spool) and connectors to spare. It does that specific low-demand job very well. For lighting a room I would look for a smarter, brighter product. Best of luck to you in your search!
