There's a plastic or metal clip on the adjustment band. It looks like your head would rest right against it and would not be comfortable?
Can I use Woolite to wash this?
Does it leave the nose free, unencumbered so it can breathe just the way it does in daytime, or is there pressure so breath is slightly more effort?

Fantastic purchase for most anyone

Excellent customer service from this brand. I've been trying to find an eye mask that works while I'm sleeping with my full mask cpap, and it's been tough. I tried two of the masks from Alaska bear and while they were not compatible with my cpap, the quality was fantastic. This one was soft and very comfortable, and the one I tried before it (the one with the stars on it) was even better. If you are someone who doesn't need a full mask for their sleep apnea, your search ends here. You won't regret it. Someone from Alaska bear even reached out to me to assist me in finding a mask that works when I returned the first one. In a world with declining quality of customer service, and no one really holding businesses accountable for poor practices, Alaska Bear truly cares about the quality of their brand. Comfort:Excellent Design:Simple and effective (though I like their one with the stars more) Size:Adjustable Velcro:NoneColor:Silky blackWhy did you pick this product vs others?:The brand had many positive reviews and I now understand why.

I'm sleeping better

As a side sleeper and someone who hates having stuff touching my face, I was skeptical that I could wear a sleep mask. But after a doctor recommended I try it to help improve my sleep, I decided to give it a go. The material is very soft and on the interior there is a soft eye molded foam. The eye mold is soft enough that when I lay my face on the pillow it doesnt dig in or hurt. It's molded just enough so their isnt pressure on your eyes but my eye lashes to brush the inside if I open my eyes. I don't see that as an issue since I dont open my eyes with it on. Sometimes the material tickles my face (that's really my own skin sensitivities not the product). I appreciate the adjustable strap in the back. It has fallen off a few times but I dont realize until I wake up and when I do I just put it back on. Easy easy. The only drawback for me is that I previously used a sunrise light alarm clock with 0 sound. That woke me up every day no issues. Ive now had to go back to using an alarm with sound, but to avoid being startled awake (which is why I hated alarm clocks to begin with) I have mine connected to a spotify morning nature meditation playlist. No being startled awake haha.

Comparison of 7 different sleep masks

For our family’s Alaska trip this summer, in the Land of the Midnight Sun, we knew we would need some kind of light-blocker in order to get a decent sleep. It was really hard to tell from the photos, descriptions, and reviews, which products were actually superior, so we purchased 7 different sleep masks. After trying all of them for two weeks, we can give other buyers our comparative reviews. Listed below in rank order from our best to worst, here are the 7 masks we tried:ZGGCD• This was the first one that I tried, and it worked so great. After this one, the other masks were okay, but they were just not quite as good as this one. (except for MZOO which was very, very similar). This ZGGCD mask was priced fairly at $9.99.MZOO• Another great model. Nearly identical to the ZGGCD brand, but it has a large MZOO brand printed on the front. And it cost twice as much. (I paid $19.99)LKY• These masks came as a 3-pack for $9.99. They were an economical option that worked surprisingly well, and were not uncomfortable. These were unexpectedly much smaller than the other masks, but they really did work fine. The band seemed tight, but it was adjustable – I guess I just never adjusted it. These masks kept the light out, and the eye wells were deep enough. Two of my college kids liked them well enough that they borrowed these for another trip they are taking next month.Alaska Bear• I figured this mask was just made for the Midnight Sun! Quite a bit smaller than the extra plush masks. Not very thick either, but again to my surprise, the small masks worked just as well as the luxury models. The price for this one was on the upper end ($14.99).Zenssia• The satin looked and felt luxurious, and at the $19.99 price, it tied with MZOO for being the most expensive mask we tried. The velcro band stays secure, and did not get caught in my hair. The cloth over the ears actually felt nice. But, I can’t say this mask was nice to sleep in. If you didn’t keep the band tight, the mask sort of shifts or spins over my face as I move. And if I pulled the band tight, it seemed to put all the pressure right across my eyes. So this mask was a no-go.LitBear• At $14.39, this was on the pricier end. There is a nose bridge piece that helps block any sneaks of light, but I preferred the superior comfort of the masks that didn’t have that extra fabric bridge, over having every last peep of light obliterated. I can say the nose bridge had a nice cool feeling that I liked. But the critical problem for me was that my lashes brushed on the inside of this mask.MABAO• The mesh fabric on the outside does not speak comfort, but I realize that the outside fabric does not really rub on the skin, so it shouldn’t matter. However, the eye pockets in this one were just too shallow. I hadn’t even known that shallow eye wells could be a problem, but I am sure glad we had other masks with the deep eye wells. We bought this MABAO mask at the budget price of $5.99I might have mentioned that I am a real mover in my sleep, and sometimes these masks fell off, but to my surprise that didn’t happen often. Many in the family are side-sleepers, and none had complaints about buckles or straps pressing into their heads. After trying these 7 masks, we felt we could offer some helpful feedback to other shoppers. My best two recommendations were ZGGCD ($9.99) as the best mask of all, and LKY which was a decent and functional mask, and there were THREE masks for the same price. Then there were the three that I just could not get comfortable with: Zennsia, LitBear, and MABAO. I wouldn’t recommend these. Happy travels everyone!

Perfect for Summer Early Risers (Who Don't Want to Be!)

This mask is super soft and fits great thanks to the adjustable strap. I have windows on three sides of my bedroom, and in the summer when sunrise hits around 5am ET, it’s a lifesaver. Keeps the light out and lets me sleep until MY actual wake-up time, not nature’s.

If you wanna forget your name when you wake up, this is the sleeping mask for you

I just got this for an upcoming flight and decided to try it out at home. WOW! Best sleep ever. I woke up and didn't know what year it was. Even though there was the tiniest bit of light that technically was visible at the bottom, it did not affect my sleep at all. It's so light-weight you forget you're wearing it. Definitely recommend this to all.

So comfortable and soft!

Love this eye mask! It's my second one. I really like Alaska Bear mulberry silk, so soft, and the contoured mask is very comfortable, feels good to have space above my eyes. Also keeps the light out. Easy to wash and hang to dry. It's become my favorite.

Gets The Job Done

If you're looking for a no-frills basic sleep mask, you can't beat the price. The few times I've washed it I just soaked it in soap, rinsed it out, air-dried, and it seems no worse for wear.

Great quality but STAINS pillowcases

Amazing quality but it has stained every pillowcase and sheet I own and it does NOT come off. I have washed the eye mask a couple times hoping it would stop staining the pillowcases but it won’t. So sad because I really liked it but it has ruined my sheets.
