What are the benefits of this compared to standard moisturizer?

HA can hold onto 1000x its own weight in water, making it one of the best moisturizers available, so it knocks standard moisturizers out of the park! My skin has been so much softer since introducing this into my routine.

How is this any better than other HA serums?

I've found HA to be a marketing gimmick: it dries your skin on contact and will wrinkle it in the long run. HA needs to be used with TONS and TONS of water, applied right away and on top of it. Nobody (except me) does that. Still, I end up with drier skin. I now use a heavy cream that is natural and has a high concentration of HA: it does dry my  skin as wel. I'm done with HA. It's a hoax. Also the product here contains carcinogens and other skin wrinkling agents. Put parabens & all unpronounceables in a search and see for yourself.

Is early 20s too young to start using this serum?

when starting any new skincare product spot test on your arm first. I had non-reactive skin so I can take pretty strong additives, but my mother has Uber sensitive skin. So while all her products can be used by me. She couldn’t use all of mine.

Retinol is the active that has the most back research. It can help with lines and wrinkles and also acne. However, it can also cause skin purging for a few weeks to months when initially starting. When this occurs the skin may look worse than when you started. But over time it clear up beautifully.

It’s important to introduce one new active at a time so you if what seems like purging is a reaction and you should stop the product immediately or if it’s pitching that you need to power through.

The good thing is that OTC retinols like this on have 2.5% or less of retinol making it more gentle and less like to cause the dreaded purge. Rx retinol from a dermatologist often is a high percentage. But it’s important to note that derms will step you up to high concentrations to lower the purge affect.

Vitamin C may also cause a reaction of too strong. So if one it causing a reaction, check the strength and step down or use less.

HA is an amazing product but it can also cause dryness. Whaaaaat? That’s weird right bc it’s moisturizing? Well HA is great bc it pulls moisture from the air to hydrate and plump your skin. When you are in a dryer environment whether it outside or perhaps where you work, the HA doesn’t have water to pull in from the air so it takes it from your skin. Leaving you with dry skin. So the moral is if you’re in a dry environment like Az or work in an office 8-12 hrs a day use but you may wish to get a skin mist and mist ever 2-3 hrs to give the HA something to pull in moisture.
