I purchased this to replace a 15 year old Aroma 10 cup rice cooker that was on it's last legs. I went with the smaller 6 cup as I generally only make 2-4 cups and wanted a stainless bowl vs another coated one. I chose this one specifically because it included a stainless steamer basket as well, they also sell a cheaper one without the steamer basket if you won't use it. These are pretty basic plug and play machines, it worked exactly as I expected it to.I make rice 1-2 times a week and had no issues using this rice cooker. I generally make Jasmine rice and did not have to put any butter/cooking spray in the bottom. I usually turn the rice cooker off after it finishing cooking anyway because I don't like crunchy rice on the bottom that comes with using the warming function on these cookers. Rice did not stick to the bottom of the pan, cooked up fluffy as I would expect it to. I put the pan/lid in the dishwasher and it came out perfectly clean.

Somewhat high price for a basic rice cooker, but liking the stainless steel pot and the steamer tray.

It's a rice cooker. It's does its job, and I like it because it has a stainless steel pot instead of nonstick. The steamers great for veggies too. When I use it, I sometimes get this weird smell like something is burning and the pot got heat tint after one use (this is just a cosmetic issue though). The only real complaint I have is that the measuring cup had a crack in it so I can't really use it.

The media could not be loaded. With all the concerns lately about Teflon and non-stick coatings, I wanted something healthier and safer... so I decided to go with this stainless steel rice cooker. And I’m so glad I did! The pot is really thick and sturdy, not flimsy at all. Super easy to clean too.It’s just the right size for 1–2 people, and I love the simplicity with just one switch. Press down to cook, and it switches to warm when done. No complicated settings. Great price too! Came with a detachable steamer, measuring cup and spatula.If you’re becoming more health-conscious like me, especially about what you cook your food in, this is a great buy.

I have been using the 6 cup (cooked) rice cooker with steamer for 2 months now, and there is still smell. Once the machine is off or on warm mode the smell goes away. So I am pretty sure it's not right. I am really concerned, because I have noticed chest pain recently, more when I am around it during operation.Also, there is a major flaw on the design of the base where the stainless steel pot sits on. There are a few protruding spots (coated) that would touch the stainless steel pot; when the cooker is on, especially for the first time use, the coating on those spots would heat up and possibly melt away because it's touching the stainless steel pot that is hot, which then stick to the outside of the stainless steel pot. I am pretty sure this is what happened because those spots on the base revealed the stainless steel after the intial use, and I have also check the stainless steel body for marks. Check on your cooker see if I am right on initial use.I have another brand at home, bigger, their designs are really similar, also coated, but doesn't have those protuding spots. I bought Aroma for the steamer, but ended up not using it at all. lol. But I have to say, that the stainless steel on the inner pot is of high quality. So such a pity.I have called Aroma service 3 times yesterday and it automatically sent me to voicemail saying customer service not available, call back again or leave message. Either way, I am a discontinuing the use of this product.

We wanted a bit smaller rice cooker, because our 8 cup cook up too much counter space and the bowl inside had the non-stick coating was scratching off with use. Yuk! I wanted a healthier option for my family of 4 adults that makes rice very often. I ordered this rice cooker and could not be more impressed! This 6 cup makes more than enough rice, it's cooks the rice perfectly and the 1 lever operation is very simple. Not having a non-stick coated bowl is wonderful and easier to clean, too. This medium sized cooker can cook many things and steam veggies, fish, chicken, etc.. while the rice is being made! It's cool! I love the size and fits nicely on our counter top, too. It's a little bit more for the stainless rice bowl and steamer, but I feel it was well worth the few dollars more. We love this price cooker and give it 5 Stars!
