UPDATE : I was contacted by a representative from Krave who thought I might have gotten an extra salty batch. They sent me a new batch to try, and I can confirm the new batch tasted great! It was just spicy enough to clear my sinuses, which is the kind of heat I like! Not overly salty either! Texture was nice and on the tender side, easy to chew even on thick pieces. I really like that there is no sugar in the jerky. I can definitely see myself ordering more. I also tried the Sonoma Barbeque which was delicious! Additionally, I appreciate the excellent customer service, how the issue was addressed promptly, overall professionalism, and that the company cares about the quality of their product.Older review:I was excited to try this, but was overwhelmed by the salt. I like hatch chilis, and the heat in this is great, but the spicy flavor is secondary to the salt. This was my first time trying jerky from Krave, and I'm not sure if all their jerky is like this, but I compared their sodium levels to the other jerky brand I typically get and they have twice as much sodium as the other brand. I like the texture of the jerky as it isn't too tough, as well. I would probably have really enjoyed this if the salt wasn't such a dominating flavor.

A vile, vile flavor. Generic smoky jerky smell, the very first taste is fine, but it quickly becomes repulsive. I couldn't finish a piece the size of my thumb, even after taking a break and trying again later. Just.. no. (Krave has other good flavors, but skip this one unless you're curious what moldy toe jam tastes like.

It is harder, stiffer, closer to the texture that beef jerky SHOULD have, at least the first package I opened. Tooany, most brands, are way too soft and so candy-likr, they have lost what good beef jerky SHOULD be. The only critical is a tad bit salty for me. But the closest to perfection that our son used to make

Both flavors taste great. Love that Krave jerky is more tender than other brands I’ve tried. Not grizzly at all. Win-win!

I have purchased the Krave Zero Sugar Southwest Hatch Chile at the grocery store and really liked it so I thought I would buy some in bulk. I’ve opened four of the pouches and threw them all out because the jerky was impossible to chew. The flavor is great but the beef isn’t. It could be a bad batch. The expiration date is 04-26-23 so it shouldn’t be that. Maybe a storage issue. Buyer beware.

I've heavily eaten all sorts of meat jerky the last five years since going low carb. So I do understand the texture and toughness of normal jerky. This stuff is darn near inedible due to how tough it is. I mean, it, you could probably break a tooth on this stuff. It's a shame because the flavor is really good but I ended up tossing the rest of the bag after a few bites because of how absolutely ridiculously tough it is.
