This is simply a very poor design. We inherited this toilet when we bought this house 4 years ago, and we had continual trouble with it.We (very reluctantly) decided to just replace the entire tank/basin portion of the toilet rather than try a different toilet (because unfortunately, the options in alternative types of toilets with the wash basin built in are few and far between) and the small basement bathroom this toilet is in does not have room for a standalone sink.So we bought a new tank. The provider (PlumbingMall) was just fine, we got the toilet very well packaged with no damage…..my complaints are not at all with them. The flushing mechanism is an absolute joke: two 4-inch long very-flimsy plastic “rods” (that’s being charitable because “rod” imply something stiff and useful, which these are not) have to push down on a platform with enough force to flush the water. If the basin is off kilter by a millimeter, the flush buttons stick down. The prior tank that this new one replaced was more than 10-years old, and the new parts are exactly the same…..Caroma did not bother to improve a design after more than a decade?I would avoid these toilets if you can.

while the concept is awesome, this company can suck it

I bought this toilet to go in my tiny house, mainly because it saves space and water. From the outset, the toilet did not flush properly. I don't know what kind of clown put this together, but the insides doesn't align to flush properly. I contacted the company I ordered it from to get new inerds, just in case that was the problem. They assured me the replacement parts were on the way, and they never showed. So, while the concept is awesome, this company can suck it. I'm going with someone else who has a similar design. What a waste of money.

Great idea, but there is a design flaw: The funky water that sits in the tank can cause issues.

We have had our toilet/sink now for 3 years. Started noticing black and grey particles in the toilet bowl after a flush. I took the sink off the back and found a build up of mold and algae. So how the sink works is you wash your hands in a sink, and the sink drains into the tank, saving that 'grey water' for the next flush. The problem is that the 'grey water' sits in the tank mold and algae build up. SO, you have to drain the tank and disinfect and clean the inside of the tank. This all makes sense. You are storing dirty water in a tank. There is bound to be a funk that builds up in that tank over time. I did not think of this when I bought mine. You should consider it before you buy yours. And BTW, I called the company and they said they had never heard of this happening before, although they seemed surprised that I was storing 'grey water' in the tank. I guess they do not know how their own products work. They had no solution other than to drain, clean, disinfect, refill and start over. Not a deal breaker, but a maintenance and potential health issue.
