PNW ComponentsRange Stem Gen 3, Clamp Diameter

I like the way PNW did the branding on the stem, simple and clean looking not big flashy block letters. Install was nice and easy, even came with a Gopro style mount to mount an action cam to the stem at the front of the bike (not my favorite POV honestly but still a nice addition). Would buy another for my next build as well.

I have been running a competitors stem for a few years now but always found it uncomfortable with the 30mm reach. I bought the 50mm version of this stem and it has solved all of those issues I previously had while only being 20grams heavier. It is also really cool that it comes with a camera mount out of the box, very unique and handy.

I’ve had many stems over the years. On my YT Jeffsy 40mm length was the sweet spot. I picked up a set of PNW rang bars and paired them with the PNW range stem. They look great together and are very nicely built. If your looking for a new stem this is a great option from a great company.

Stem is great, installed easily and I was back on my new bars. I have many many PNW Components components on my bike and will always look to them over other brands.

Unfortunately it was cumbersome.

The actual stem is nice, the M6 screws' quality not so much. Nice looking stem, but the first one that I received had cheap M6 screws in it. One of the front cap screws snapped as soon as I tried to remove it from the stem. I know what everyone is thinking: I over-torqued it on install. as a fastener Engineer with 40 years of experience at a major auto company, I assure you that it is not the case. If a quality screw/bolt were to be over-torqued in an aluminum part, It would rip the hole threads out, leaving the screw unharmed. Taking a further look at the snapped part, i could see that it is a cast part, most likely aluminum itself, making for a light, but useless part even at 6-7 Nm of torque. When I received another stem, i tossed the screws into the trash and installed titanium parts of a quality that i am sure of. I purchased a few other PNW parts at the same time, but have since decided to stick to another brand that seems to have One Up on PNW in overall quality. If you purchase this stem, i suggest immediately swapping in steel of an other quality M6 parts. it's a wonder if you're reading this as this review is continuously deleted.
