We find that you might want to put a trist tie on the hook of the pot & the holder to be ableTo raise the plant up & keep it in the holder, which helps makes the planter lowered work. Other than that, it works great. One of the best things I bought this summer since I have trouble raising plant waters up over my head due to a shoulder injury.

I love hummingbirds. I bought these to hang my feeders on. I loved the pulley idea so I could just pull the feeder down refill it and then let it back up. trying to keep my clumsy self off a ladder. well it just doesn't work that way. I imagine if just needed to hang something and leave it at that level it might be a good hanger but pulley just doesn't work well. bought 5 . this is a revisal. my brilliant grandson fiddled with one for a few minutes and said look here's how it works. trick is, when trying to raise/lower the strap, movement has to be quick in and out real quick. when i have trouble I just leave them hanging at my shoulder height. when changing feed I hold the hook from popping up with a can of beans in a shopping bag.

i used these to suspend some hanging basket planters from my ceiling over my kitchen island in which i keep ziplocs, teabags, shopping bags & other things nearby but up out of the way. the retractable pulleys are very sturdy. they were a bit bigger than i imagined from the picture & certainly much larger & sturdier than what i needed. but, i did not bother to look closely at the measurements in the product description. i would certainly buy more for outdoor planter hanging if i need them & recommend this product to others

These worked ikay fir a few months but one jammed and is no longer useful. Sadly another broke yesterday and three plants went crashing to the floor — I don’t think these are meant to hold plants in a 3-tier macrame planter which is the sole reason I purchased the item — to water the plant on top.
