Does what it says......
My lawn needed a good scarifying and in past years I have had someone do this for me with a machine. I decided to do it myself this year but did not want to hire a machine and decided I could really do with the exercise. This tool really fit the bill and it is very sturdy so I expect it to be of use for many years to come.It has taken me about 6 hours to do my whole lawn which in the scheme of things isn't long. I liked the fact that it could be used in a way that it took out the old moss and dead matted grass when pulling it toward you and then when pushing it back it left what it had pulled in a pile. Unlike when using a rake, you keep having to stop and take what you have gathered out of the teeth of the rake, this tool dislodges it as you go which makes the process much faster and easier to manage. If you are looking for a tool to do this job with I can't think of a better one to buy.

Hard but satisfying to use. Works really well, especially with a long handle and a low working angle.
There are two reasons I got this one: firstly, it seems to be the only scarifying rake that is specifically designed for the job, and secondly it fits the universal Wolf Garten handles, which just happens to be about the only ones I can get that are long enough for someone of my height (6'4").I know it's not the ideal time of year for scarifying the lawn, but as it's past dandelion seed season, and I don't mind the other weeds so much, I thought I might as well rake the lawn of our new house, a job that I estimate had been neglected for at least 2 1/2 years.I looked at machines, but as our lawn isn't too big, I thought a bit of elbow grease might be in order for the job, and I must say I am glad I went down that route. Even though it's quite a hard job, and I was even considering leaving the rest for tomorrow less than halfway through, it is good exercise, and the resistance on the rake also tells you where you need to rake a bit extra.I found the rake works best when it is at quite a low angle to the ground when the pulling force pushes it down just right so it doesn't get stuck in the ground, and with the jointed teeth, whatever you rake releases easily from it when you push it away from you.It raked a lot more than I expected, easily cutting its way through moss, scraping up dead or half-dead grass (probably from being suffocated by the moss), and at the end of it my garden waste bin was as full as I'd normally expect it to be after about three to four mowings of the lawn during prime grass growing season.I also found that the shape of the teeth dug up stones and pebbles that had settled in the top soil just under the grass, and there were more of those than I expected too, and nice to get them off the lawn. All in all, it's a well-designed gardening tool that is better and more efficient than I expected, as hard work as I thought it would be, and though I expect a bit of resharpening might do it some good for next time, it certainly feels as if the build quality will stand up to many years of annual or semi-annual use and abuse. The Wolf Garten concept and series of gardening tools, though not so much a money saver, is certainly a space saver and a convenient way to get a set of gardening tools that are easy to store and use. Coupled with the longest handles I know of and this unique scarifying rake, it will always be my first choice now whenever a tool exists in the series.Highly recommended (but do prepare for some hard work).

Bit expensive, but you get what you pay for, 5 stars.
If you’ve got a small to medium lawn, 1 hour perhaps of effort, not a lot as things thing is good! Then this tool is just what you need, no electrical wires to worry about cutting, excessive soil dust flying around requiring a mask with electrical scarifier, no burnt out motor..been there done that..simply takes out the thatch well in a flowing motion back and forth without clogging up the sharp blades.Great for garden great for you, small and compact, requires the telescopic or wood pole attachment sold separately but it’s a tools for life! Highly recommend.Looking to purchase their other attachments for pole saving on shed space.

Good and sturdy and it actually works. I got the longest handle to make things easier

Very sharp and solid construction
I was tempted to buy a motorised scarifier but instead went for the manual option. A great tool, cuts through thatch and scores the soil. It does still require lots of manual effort but that just means you get a great workout.

Not for everyone
Quality product but really hard to pull through the grass.

Brilliant
Saw this recommended on YT as a way to scarify and remove thatch. Needed to rake out Knott Grass and Creeping Buttercup from a recently seeded lawn being overrun during the summer months. This item is really easy to use and you'll be amazed by how much rubbish is pulled out. Would be nice if a larger version was available for larger lawns.
