Purchased 2 years ago and has been quietly doing its job, has saved me from power black outs with my pc running long enough for me to shut it down with out any problems, and thanks to the USB on the front allowed me to charge my phone while I had no power... was absolutely chuffed with the unit, much better than the cheap thing I had before... Up until today, on my last self test it started showing an F02 error, it recommends reducing the load. I unplugged the additional non battery supplied side (extra monitor etc) and powered it back on, it went very bang, big baddabomb, and the whiff and sight of the magic blue smoke appeared.. I have unplugged it from my set up now... it still powers on, but directly to the error screen, but after the bang and smoke I will not be using it anymore.. time to see if there is anything I can do via cyber power themselves else its a lot of money for only 2 years of service.

This UPS (now I have 3 of them), has been working really well and the other two have been working well for about 2 years now. It's still too early to say how Long they will last. In my experience, generally most UPS, starts to have some issues after 4 years of continuous use, so it will take way longer than 2 years to be able to say how robust these are.As a general advice, the way I calculate how good UPS are, is by dividing their price over the number of years of reliable activity (reliable!), the cheaper it gets per single year of activity the better is the UPS.Hope this helps

Bought to run my Fridge Freezer off as we get many power cuts where I live. It works perfectly. I wish these were no quite as expensive though and I had bought a larger battery version.

This is a pretty good UPS.I have had no problems with it and the shutdown software works as described.A big attraction of this UPS is that has a mix of UK 3 pin square sockets and IEE power sockets - which is very handy for those items for which you can't readily get an IEE cable.One other point worth noting is that, initially, I had some doubts about the fact that it only appeared to have RJ45 sockets for surge protection on the broadband line - one in and one out - rather than the RJ11 sockets that the broadband wall socket and router and my previous Belkin UPS use.What I hadn't realised is that RJ45 sockets are designed os that their centre connections are exactly the same as the connections on RJ11 sockets - the RJ11 is in effect a subset of the RJ45 - so you can plug an RJ11 cable into an RJ45 socket, as long as you centre it in the RJ45 socket so it connects with that subset of connections.Once I realised this (helped by Cyberpower's technical support, who helpfully sent me a diagram and instructions) I was able to plug in my existing RJ11 cables and everything worked well.I later purchased some new cables with RJ11 at one end and RJ45 at the other, so I was able to plug in the RJ45 ends to the UPS and the RJ11 ends to the wall socket and router - because the RJ45 into an RJ45 socket seems physically a more secure fit than the RJ11 into an RJ45 socket.But when you see the sockets described as RJ11/RJ45, that is what it means.The only other thing to note is that, if you do use these sockets for surge protection, they will adversely impact your broadband speed. Mine was reduced from about 48-50 Mbps to about 32 Mbps. I contacted Cyberpowerr about this and they said it is a feature of surge protection and that they are working on an update which might improve matters - but that the update won't be free.To investigate furrther, I also checked broadband speeds with and without the surge protection offerd by an ageing Belkin UPS - and the Belkin UPS reduced the speed to about 43 Mbps, not quite as bad as the Cyberpopwer UPS but it tends to confirm the general point that surge protection does adversely impact broadband speeds; and Cyberpower's surge protection does seem to be worse than some others in this respect. That is why I have deducted one star from what would otherwise have been a five star review.

I have suffered from enough short power outages to make UPS essential for my computer. A few days back a power cut revealed that my old UPS had died without warning me (though lack of care on my part may have contributed)! I have a high end desktop with two screens, and I may reorganise my system to bring more components together, so I looked for something with a higher output wattage and battery life than the basic single computer UPS's. Cyberpower CP1500EPFCLCD-UK seems to meet these requirements and is currently running fine. The free management software downloaded from the manufacturer's Website seems fine and allows you to set options such as time before automatic shutdown with ease. I set the shutdown type option to "Hibernate" and the trigger to "shut down when remaining battery life 5 mins or less", pulled out the mains plug, and waited. In due course the computer shut down safely, as intended, so excellent!However, and my reason for a 4* rating, is that when I plugged the mains in and started my computer again, it shut down again straight away. Clearly this would not have happened if I had left the UPS to charge for a while but if I had been in a hurry to get back on-line this would have been a pain.The alternative is to set the maximum period allowed running under battery power before auto shutdown but that seems to make less use of the battery capacity and there seems to be no way to use the two settings together - I would like to set it to run for 20 minutes provided that at least 5 minutes run time remains. Manufacturer????Observation, but not really a problem: When first connected as directed, the battery charge showed as 100%. Just to check that it worked, I pulled out the mains plug from the UPS and waited. My computer showed no sign of any issues, as I had hoped! However the battery charge as shown by the manufacturers software dropped rapidly to about 60% and was shown as recharging from that level when I put the plug back. It is my impression that to be sure of getting the battery fully charged, it should be run down a little before the system is used in anger.As someone has mentioned, getting replacement batteries may be an issue. UK Amazon currently lists the correct batteries (RB1280X2B) but shows no one in the UK with any in stock or expecting them in. I have not looked further but, if replacement batteries are a concern, then it might be worth checking their availability in more detail.
