Very cool. The way the product works so that you get only one of three colors is very cool. Connect one lead to battery, and power the light by connecting any one of the three color leads to ground. To make use of the multiple colors in a circuit, consider how to design the circuit so that the desired color is grounded while the others are floating. In the event your circuit grounds multiple leads, the selected color is prioritized in order of red first, yellow next, and green. Example, if green and red are grounded, the color will be red. Why really cool? The colors follow a prioritization scheme. For example when used with a Victron low battery disconnect product, I connected the battery wire of the LED to the input to the Victron input (which runs to the refigerator circuit breaker on a dc panel), the yellow wire to the refrigerator with a pull down resistor connected to ground; and wire the left side of a DPDT on-off-on bypass switch wired with the center terminal to ground and with the other two terminals connected to red and green, and the right side of the switch connecting the refrigerator (center terminal) to either the Victron output or the 12v from the refrigerator circuit breaker (which would bypass the Victron disconnect). When the fridge circuit breaker is off, there is no light, otherwise, when the fridge has no power the yellow light is on, when the fridge has power normally (the victron did not cutoff for low battery voltage) the lights is green, when the fridge has power but in the bypass switch position the light is red, e.g. red = warning the victron is bypassed.

I used this as an indicator lamp showing when my water heater is on. The water heater is in a timer, and after a couple timers burnt out I installed this indicator. Works as it should.

Since these appear to be dual 12/24v, my guess is that the true full brightness is not realized unless feeding them 24v power. I am using. Them on 12V and they are not blindingly bright like I have seen from some other native 12V indicators. They are however plenty bright for most environments to clearly see it’s lit, even with plenty of surrounding daylight. Not a huge deal but it would have been nice to see for purposes of long range visibility.In my case, these are in use in the bottom of some external metal enclosures housing fiber optic network switches and some other communication hardware. These feed off of a common 12V power supply for the enclosure. If for some reason the power supply dies, it will be easy to tell with no indicator lit.The entire housing and lens are made of plastic including the backing nut. The lens itself appears so have a diffuser on the front. Looking at it straight on and at a slight angle, you can see the diffuser pattern. It is also beveled out as well/not flat.

It was great to find this type/style of light available in AC products. Without needing an adapter. Have used them in several custom lamp creations. From taillights in a toy car. Glowing ends of a light saber. To the latest use as simulated embers in the base of a Phoenix Rising themed lamps. And, yes, even as indicator lights in a funky 50's Chevy Console cluster lamp.Definitely will continue to use these for accent lights in future designs.
