One of the things I found very interesting from the beginning is they'll have helpful hints along the bottom, of where to like listen to things or other ideas to help you to learn. I like listening to the children's alphabet song to get familiar with the alphabet sounds. but I'm a slow learner

In the section where Mr. Abreu highlight the 20 most used verbs in Portuguese, wishing the author conjugated the irregular in this section too, making it easier to memorize all 20 in one place.

Did not like the learning format

It is no fun to learn something by simply memorizing it. This is in conversational format. Brilliant!

I enjoyed this book very much,for the purpose.I gave it a high review becauce it would be helpful to many people in my opinion and would recommend it. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn purtuguese

Also there's a link suggested by the author but it doesn't work. Well, it didn't for me. Also a CD would be nice.This book is still useful but I highly recommend a Portuguese teacher.

Down to earth language book

My parents first language is Portuguese and I understand everything but my speaking isn't that great. This book is really helping me dive in and learn more about the language, i.e learning the alphabet, vowels, numbers, ect.

This is an excellent book for the money,,if you genuinely want to learn the language and how the words are formed,this book gives you your first real steps in that direction,def a must have.
