T-34: Russia's Armoured Spearhead (TankCraft)

The books in this series are amazing. Useful photos of builds in progress and after with explanations of how to do it yourself. Plenty of information regarding aftermarket items that can be purchased. If you are a beginner (or are looking for ideas) that is building a T-34 and want to make it the best you can, you need this reference book! You won't regret it.

Avoid this book. It is so full of extremely basic errors that you will be dumber for having read it. There are a great many better titles out there if you want to learn about T-34s.

Very poor addition to the series . Many inaccuracies and poor inaccurate color profiles with erroneous color call outs .

A rather disappointing and somewhat cursory look at the T-34, which won't knock Steve Zaloga at Osprey from the top spot. Despite their age, Zaloga's two books on the t34-76 and t34-85, are the one's to go for; not this cobbled together and often inaccurate hodge podge of a book.PS In terms of inaccuracy, page 5 at the bottom of the page has a twin turret BT-2 tank with the caption - ".....developed into the BT series of tanks.........They were produced in large numbers". Which is true apart from the fact that the twin turret version only existed as an experimental project which ran to three tanks, none of which were photographed. The image purporting to be a twin turret BT tank is one of several that have proved to be hoaxes. The original photograph with it's single BT-2 turret can be readily found on the web.

At only 65 pages,it can hardly be considered a comprehensive guide - there is so much more to this very important vehicle.

Excellent book although the side view drawings at best are dodgy. The artist certainly drew the vehicles from memory rather than an actual vehicle. Otherwise, for modellers especially, this book is highly rated.
