GOT THIS FOR BROWN RECLUSE BITE TREATMENT-FOUND SOMETHING BETTER
I woke up one morning an noticed a nasty bite on my knee. Since I had been bitten by a brown recluse before I recognized the wound. I Googled for treatment options again, since antibiotics, steroids, antihistamines, first aid cremes are useless, and doctors and ER's don't have any answers for the injected enzymes that eat away flesh. This Echinacea was one suggested treatment so I ordered some. Since this was not a Prime sale I had to wait a few days for delivery [when are those drones coming?] In the meantime I needed something to treat this wound NOW as the last time, bitten on the hip, it was extremely painful for weeks mainly if I rolled on my side to sleep. Thankfully it eventually went away and did not eat it way to the bone. One of the other suggested remedy's was to use Bentonite clay as a natural absorbent to pull the poison out of the wound. I knew the FRESH STEP kitty litter I have is mostly Bentonite and figured the odor crystals couldn't hurt, I mixed some into a paste and put some on the bite, covering it with with a gauze pad and tape. When I changed the dressing that night the bite was full of pus and had the telltale hole where the enzyme poison was doing it thing. However, it looked to me like the clay was pulling the poison to the surface and not letting it spread deeper. I changed the dressing daily with a new "plaster" each time. About three days laterthe Echinacea arrived and I opened a capsule and mixed some of it with the clay. In less than a week it was completely healed and each day I could see much improvement. "Your mileage may vary" but I thought I'd pass this along!

Good product, seems to actually work
I'm usually skeptical of herbal remedies. Many of them don't seem to work well, or at all. However, I definitely have noticed a difference when taking these Echinacea pills. Once I feel a cold or flu coming on, I start taking the recommended dosage, and I usually start feeling better much more quickly. They're NOT a miracle pill. You won't be up and running around like a hyperactive 5 year old the next day. But instead of feeling terrible for 10 days, you might be mostly back to normal in 5 or 6. Or an annoying cold that would leave you with a chapped nose and sore throat will be more subdued, with some minor sniffles and drainage. For many years I used over the counter cold and flu meds, but those often left me feeling dopey and uncoordinated. My wife is big into herbal though, and there are a few things that really seem to help, and work better than the 'miracle in a bottle' solutions pushed by all the pharmacies:1. Echinacea - Definitely seems to reduce the severity of my symptoms and sometimes shorten the duration by a few days. I like the NOW brand. They just seem to work a bit better than the stuff at the local grocery or pharmacy chain.2. Ginger tea with honey - The real thing made with fresh ginger root, not sure about the powders. This seems to help reduce sore throat and drainage. A bit of fresh lemon juice seems to help too, and the flavor is nice.3. Fresh veggie juice - Fresh raw veggie juice gives you a nice energy boost and gets your body the nutrients it needs to fight infection. Vitamin pills are OK, but there really seems to be some truth to the talk of enzymes from the raw foods helping you stay healthy. And I know, kale, spinach, or beet juice sounds nasty, and they really are if you try them on their own. The trick is to mix your greens with some carrots or apples, and definitely at least half a lemon. The lemon in particular almost completely covers the 'grass clippings' flavor of the greens. Oh, and get a decent juicer so you don't have to deal with gritty or slushy juice. I use a Breville, but they're pricey. Maybe try a GE one if you can't afford the more expensive models. They seem to be well constructed and have a good quality filter screen.
