Quality Mic - Great Accuracy

Don't usually write reviews, but this mic is amazing. It delivers great clarity across my entire vocal range (Tenor-Baritone). Exceptionally greater clarity in the lower frequencies of a male voice than most mics, without making it sound thin. Because of its sensitivity, it allows for greater vocal control and dynamics to be noticed. Works well on stage in the midst of a full band. Definitely would recommend this mic if you are debating about venturing into purchasing a high end microphone.

Newman 105 no funciona

Not worth $730

Have had my Neumann KMS 105 for 2 months, and compares to my 5 year old Audio Technica AE5400 it is not better. Neumann does not have as much gain as the AT, does not have 10db pad, and cannot select HPF filter. AE 5400 just sounds more like a studio microphone, with great low end pickups and smooth high end, picks up every nuances in your voice, is more open sounding, the Neumann kms105 sounds good, don’t get me wrong, but not as much in the low end and sound more boxed in, more like a glorified shure sm58, and you know how nasty those are, they are only good at rejecting unwanted sound on stage, but great sounding they are not. For critical studio use and karaoke buy the AT AE5400 and save some money. Last thing, my Neumann is developing grounding issue, hum when touch skin to body of mic, perhaps the xlr connectors is flimsy and easily damaged, avoid connect and disconnect xlr cable too many times, another negative strike on this overpriced mic.

Neumann vs.Shure vs.Sennheiser side by side

And the winner is.......Neumann KMS 105...Hand-held condenser microphone designed for the use on stage...It is like having to sing into a studio micrphone, which you put on stage..However, this one is built to withstand the demands of a stage. And yes, it is harder to sing in it, as this micrphone is non-forgiving at all. But...What a beauty...Depth,warmth, details, air,space...I am in love with it...I already have Neumann in my studio, but can't sing into it on stage, while with this one I can do both recordings and live-performances. I tested all three side by side through the same vocal monitor by Behringer. All three are hand held condensers, top line, high end, premium quality microphones.. Shure KSM 9 was muddy and dull for me. Sennheiser e965 is a great mic by all definitions, no wonder it is used in American idol show. As for its sound,it is bright,oh yes, but there is no space. It is like it is not filling up the whole space, but it is an amazing sounding mic! And then, there is Neumann...Tested side by side, there is a difference, obvious difference. Three ppl in the room unanimously said the same thing.( for those who stand by dinamic mics I will say I have one by Shure and....I prefer condensers) So tonight I surrendered to Germans....ahahahaa.Neumann is made in Germany, put together in Germany and all that. I am in love with this baby and getting in-ear PA monitoring will give me most control along with my own mxer and processor. After everything is done, I should feel totally safe and can rely on the equipment even if there is no sound guy. The best thing about Neumann - you practically don't need to do anything about it, it already sounds amazing. And with the reliable equipement I should feel all the joy from live performance and have all the fun and deliver my best to my audience.Alliluya as they say....!!!!!!!!

Makes you wanna sing and then sing some more...

Best mic I've ever used through a PA system. I'm a male baritone (thick) and the KMS 105 gives you every bit of detail you could ever want. Sounds absolutely great. Other mics I've used for live vocals are the Shure Beta58A and Sennheiser 8 and 9 series. All great mics but the Neumann takes the gold.
