Works with Lenovo X390 and dock to deliver video/audio to external monitor.
Received a Lenovo X390 laptop with USB-C dock but the USB-C cable between the dock and the laptop was a bit short for my needs; you can't replace this cable with any old USB-C cable, it has to be one that will handle video/data as well as charging, standard USB-C cable will only charge as I found out. A Lenovo branded cable is upwards of £35, enough said. This cable from Fasgear does the job perfectly.Pros.Extremely well made, braided cable.Very good price for a 10 foot cable.Carries the audio and video signal from laptop to external monitor [via dock] without issue, as well as charging the laptop.Fasgear customer service was fantastic! Contacted them in advance to make sure this cable would do what I wanted it to; they helped all the way.Cons.None.If you need a USB-C cable to go between your laptop and screen or laptop and dock/screen then get one of these. Worth every penny.Fasgear, if you are reading...please make one with a right-angled plug at one end; I would buy that too.

Fit for purpose
Not much to say about this, it's a cable and delivers the promises, or at least up to now I had no issues with it. Paid about £12 for it, the cable is pretty thick so feels good quality and should be durable. The only negative (but this may be due to my phone) is when I charge my phone, I have to push quite hard the cable in the USB slot and check the phone if it is charging, as it does not seems to reach the terminals in the port. However, I had this problem with other 3rd party cables, it seems for my Samsung phone, the original serves better. In terms of charging speed, I get the same speed as my original Samsung fast charge. However, I've got this for charging my notebook, at it delivers the promises. Not a fan of getting no name cables, particularly as this is used with a 65W charger, however, was unable to find a branded Gen 2 cable at a decent price, so gave a try to this and do not regret it.

died in 4 months
EDIT;After emailing the seller directly about this issue they were incredibly fast to respond. I had a tracking number for a replacement unit provided in less than 5 hours from my first email. Will see how the replacement does and might update again. Original 1 star review below. It stopped working after 4 months of use. I used it to connect my headset to my PC. The headset can also be used with bluetooth, so the cable was pulled in and out of the headset once or twice a day. It started developing scratches on the connector (see picture). It also started losing connection when moving my head. It wasn't too bad at first ,but got progressively worse until it stopped working all together. It's a shame because otherwise it feels like a good cable. At this price you would expect it could withstand a normal daily use routine. Do not buy this for anything else other than plug in once and don't touch. Would not recommend or buy again.

The key to my ONE CABLE workspace!
I finally upgraded my 8-year-old monitor, which has power delivery by USB C so charges my MacBook at 90W and transmits video at 4k 6Hz. I'm in pixel heaven! I was rather disappointed to find that the USB cable that came with the monitor was super short so I had to run an HDMI and charge my laptop separately. The cable didn't say what type it was but after some research, I finally found this USB 3.1 Type C Gen 2 on here and luckily it met all the criteria at a cheaper cost. Otherwise, I'd have to have bought a Thunderbolt 3 cable which is twice the price of this for half the length. So if anyone in the same situation as me, this is the cable you're looking for. Braided and seems well built. Bonus, the space grey on the charger end matches perfectly to my mac lol. Oh and I forgot to mention, it charges and transmits video all the while transmitting data as well. Oh how I love technology!

Excellent high speed cable
I have just bought this cable. I'm using with my pc and Samsung T5 usb 3.1 gen 2 ext ssd.I can confirm that this cable will allow you to transfer at an average of 500gbs. You can't fault that speed with an ext sdd.Excellent cable that does exactly what it supposed to do.

Oculus Quest Oculus Link? Here's your wire.
Works. Enough said.Instant detection of headset, fast smooth visuals. Now for those who need tech info to maybe show I'm speaking from a tech junkies perspective...Tested with fallout vr, Skyrim vr with 60 FPS AVG with high settings, no stutter or latency issues on Nvidia 1070 gtx, usb c to usb c port, MSI GT Titan laptop i7 8th Gen, 16GB RAM. No tweaks on anything. Looks amazing, runs amazing on Quest.Gotcha: wire quite short but was long enough for me due to laptop mobility.

Caused charging and stability issues
I used this to connect an external ASUS touchscreen monitor to a Surface dock 2, itself connected to a Surface Pro 7 i7. At first it worked, but after a few weeks various issues appeared: I would lose the 'touch' function on the ASUS, or the monitor would not charge from the dock even though with 100W the dock has more than enough power to charge the monitor.I thought that it was a problem with the dock until I realised that it was the cable. I bought a more expensive, Thunderbolt model, and this solved my problems overnight. The connectors on the new cable were notably better: gold plated, better insulated, and fit both the dock and the monitor better. So, I would NOT recommend the Fastgear cable. You get what you pay for, and the quality is shoddy.
