I bought amaranth grain to make a hot cereal blend of steel cut oats, amaranth, and buckwheat grouts. Toasted a bit in a skillet, then cooked for 15-20 minutes with almond milk, water, raisins, dried cranberries and a few salted pecans, this is a nutritious start to my day. Bobs Red Mill products never disappoint.

I had never had amaranth before. We used it as a substitute for rice for a stir fry meal. I liked the crunchy texture and the health benefits over more starchy alternatives. I didn’t think it was cost effective for me, so I dropped a star. It’s a small package for a big price.

It was a bit dense for cereal. One lady suggested her daughter had made popcorn. Well it pops but it's so tiny and isn't exactly a snack, we had a good laugh though ;->
