McAlpine FSW2PC Plated Grid Combined Waste and Overflow Sink, Black, Chrome

Perfect for older sinks with a 50mm hole. Comes complete with overflow and plug and washers. Very simple to fit if you can get the old one off easily. Go to brand name at a very reasonable price. Fitted to stainless steel sink but centre screw is long enough to fit to thicker sinks so long as overflow is a circular hole of correct diameter.

Good quality waste with overflow. Easy to fit (the end links on the chain are a little fiddly to attach to the plug and overflow but this is no different to any other brand) and makes a good seal. This was a replacment for one on an existing kitchen sink that no longer kept a good seal.The rubber washer and seal on the overflow and the waste plughole were adequate and did not require additional sealant / silicon etc.

Does the job fits well great price

Seems my sink is now non standard size for the drain as most replacements I could find were for a larger size, this though fits fine, was easy to install and so far does the job. I also bought some Plumbers Mate to use with it as someone else recommended it's use and applied that underneath just to be doubly sure it sealed ok.

I never fitted (or even opened the packaging as I could see instantly it was too big). I requested a return and the seller accepted it. This product is already awesome value for money so when I found that return postage was going to be more than 50% of the original cost I cancelled the return.What the seller did next was truly above and beyond as they as a gesture of goodwill returned a portion if the refund and asked me to recycle or re-gift the product on.5 starts to the seller for customer service and 5 start for the product as it would have been exactly what I needed if I could measure hole radii properly.

I had hoped that the top bracket that holds the chain in place would actually be made of metal, as this is always a weak link in our house. If I have a problem with the waste overflow, that is where it usually is, as there are always bits of plastic breaking away. It was the only new part I fitted, as the rest was still fine. Even the existing flexible plastic hose gave a tight seal. The bottom fitments look ok, but I never needed to use them. I would say though, that although the plug is 1.5 inches, it did not sit very well in my sink, so I stuck with one I had recently purchased.
