I recently installed this Amcrest dual-lens PoE camera to watch my chicken coop, and I’m really impressed! The picture quality is super sharp, even at night, thanks to the full-color night vision. The 180° panoramic view covers a huge area, so I don’t need multiple cameras.The AI features are awesome—it detects people accurately, cutting down on false alerts. Setup was easy with PoE, and the weatherproof design gives me peace of mind. The Amcrest app works well for live viewing and alerts.Overall, a fantastic outdoor security camera with great features at a fair price. Highly recommend!

Had a break-in at my house a while back, so now I always keep at least three cameras running. I picked this one as my main cam and would rely on it 100 percent if anything happened again. It gives a super wide 180-degree view, perfect if your house is off to the side and you want full street coverage. I tested it during the day, at night, and at dusk, picture quality is excellent every time.My favorite feature is the phone app. I can check live footage anytime I get an alert, even if I’m not home. It’s really responsive and easy to use. If you put this in the backyard, it should cover the whole yard without issue. I was also surprised it’s PoE capable.Runs on low power but performs like a high-end unit. Setup was easy, build is solid, and alerts are accurate. Highly recommend it.

I have owned quite a few Amcrest surveillance cameras through the years and the 8-Megapixel Panoramic PoE camera is far and away the most sophisticated and feature packed surveillance camera I’ve ever owned.This camera was easy to set up and I found it on my network right away with the Amcrest IP configuration tool. This camera has several features that really stood out to me:+ High resolution/8 megapixel—the resolution on this camera is the highest I have personally ever owned for surveillance. I’m impressed with the detail I can see when I zoom in on an image. I’m confident that I could make out license plates and other details in the proper lighting.+ 180 degree field of view—very impressed with this. This camera costs twice of what other Amcrest cameras I’ve owned cost but with traditional fields of view, you might need two cameras to see what this single camera can see. If mounted on the center of a wall, you can see to each end of the wall and everything in between. This line of site would require two cameras in most cases, so there is a value add with this camera.+ 256 GB MicroSD Capacity—Most cameras top out at 64GB capacity for mico SD cards. Being able to accommodate more storage means more high resolution video can be recorded on the device.+ Alarm, Light and Voice Functions—these extend the capabilities of the camera for security. The alarm would certainly get someone’s attention and the remote voice and sound transmission is clear. The light appears to be capable of providing additional night color illumination in a nighttime scenario.The camera is feature packed. I only noticed a couple of drawbacks:- Some of the features of the camera do not appear accessible from the Amcrest View Pro IOA app or the Amcrest IOS SmartHome app. In fact, I was not able to add this camera to the SmartHome app. The additional camera features appear accessible through a web browser.- I had difficulty accessing recordings made with the camera to the MicroSD card with the IOS apps. Maybe I’m doing something wrong but ideally, recordings would be very easy and intuitive to access.Despite the drawbacks, I would still give the camera a five-star rating. The challenges I had in testing are potential issues with the software that can be corrected. The camera is rock solid, sturdy in construction and easy to install.

The Amcrest IP8M-DLB2998EW-AI delivers incredible image quality—both day and night—and the 180° wide-angle lens is a game changer. I'm able to see the entire pool area of my home in one image! Night vision is crystal clear with no glare or IR reflection. I use the Synology Surveillance system and this camera was instantly discovered and worked flawlessly. Overall, the hardware is excellent, but the software feels somewhat unfinished. If Amcrest improves the app and UI, this would be a perfect camera. Still, I’m very impressed with this product, and ordered another to replace a PTZ camera on the east side for unparalleled visibility around my home.
