Connecting Threads Essential Cotton Thread 5000 Yard Cone Set of 2 (Antique)

I’m a quilter, and I’ve used the Connecting Threads 100% cotton thread for years and years. I like the Aurifil very much also, but this is more economical, and to me, just as satisfactory These large cones last a very long time.

I've been running this cotton thread in my industrial embroidery machine for a few months now and it's going pretty well. With the machine running at 850 spm, it sheds a noticable amount lint in the bobbin casing and through the needle carriage but not so much that I need to clean it out more often than changing the bobbin. I rarely get breakages, less often than when stitching with my usual (40wt) polyester thread. It does lint up more than one of its (50wt, 2ply) name brand competitor, but it's also more than half the price of that competitor, so I can spend a few more seconds with a lint brush!

While thread is not exciting to most people, I am a sewing enthusiast, and so thread is exciting to me. After a successful hand surgery, I am able to sew again! I find that I am going through an enormous amount of thread making things. I tried Connecting Threads as a way to get some more bang for my buck since my local retailers (big box stores) do have thread, the value is not great. I am so happy that I tried Connecting Threads! 100% cotton thread does make an enormous difference in how my machine sews. I have yet to find anything that I dislike about the thread! Having said that, I will address the elephant in the room: the size of the 5000 yard thread cone. It does not fit on my machine, but I purchased a stand alone thread holder that is working very well. I'll be purchasing from Connecting Threads again, probably soon!Update: I have made both a queen and a king sized quilt in addition to multiple small projects, and I'm still not quite halfway through the first cone of thread. There has been NO breakage, no snags, and no problems whatsoever. I stand by my original review that this is an excellent product for both quality and value.

My wife and I do much of the binding on our guild’s charity quilts. This thread works beautifully for what we do. I think with two of these two spools I should get about four years of charity quilts and the bindings. Great quality. So much so I purchased two spools of the medium gray as well.

I quilt and use a lot of thread so I was intrigued with the connecting threads brand. I love the large cones in the neutral color. Yes you see some lint every now and then but the value was worth it.

I like that I received two cones of thread. I love Connecting Threads thread products.
